NFL Uniforms (Updated 2023): Colts, Jets, Broncos, Eagles, and More Changes Coming

2023-09-01
Some NFL teams will look different in the 2023 season with an update to their uniforms. With a brand-new design, some classic throwbacks, and changes to helmet designs, there will be some new NFL styles on the field.
A rule change now allows for two different helmets to be used by NFL teams. The NFL previously only allowed for one helmet design due to safety concerns, but the change in the rule saw 13 teams wear different helmets in 2022. Teams are now taking advantage, reintroducing popular, legendary NFL uniforms in new fashionable and creative ways.
Which Teams Will Make Changes to Their NFL Uniforms in 2023?
Arizona Cardinals | New Uniforms
The Cardinals revealed their brand new uniform design in April 2023, the first major overhaul of their uniform design since 2005. Arizona is the only team to offer a complete change to their range of uniforms for the 2023 season.
The new look is a simple design, and the uniforms offer a clean, fresh take on the team’s jerseys. Red home jerseys, white away jerseys, and a black alternate uniform were announced, along with subtle changes to the helmet design.

The uniforms also include some interesting details. The red home jersey has the words “protect the nest” stitched into the collar and “Arizona” placed on the front in bold lettering. Both the away and alternate jerseys are similar designs with “bird gang” stitched into the collar and striping on the shoulders.
After much anticipation, the Eagles are finally bringing back their throwback Kelly Green jerseys for the new season. A throwback to the classic early 1990s uniform, this reveal had Philly fans excited.
Designed by Nike, the Kelly Green is a custom color for the Nike range, which has been made possible due to Nike’s new color technology. The fabric is also made of recycled materials.
The Eagles will wear their Kelly Green uniforms in two home games in the 2023 NFL season — Week 7 against Miami and Week 12 against Buffalo.
The Seattle Seahawks are also bringing back a classic 1990s uniform. The throwback of royal blue jerseys and silver helmets will return in 2023, something Seattle sports fans have been crying out for.
It’s the 90s. It’s now. It’s commemorative. It’s current. The Throwback uniforms are finally here.
Seattle will wear the popular throwback on Oct. 29 in Week 8 against the Cleveland Browns. For all the 90s kids out there, make sure to check out Seattle’s official website for the announcement if you want a blast from the past.
Tennessee Titans | Throwback
The Titans are going back to their roots with complete throwback uniforms to their days as the Houston Oilers. The Oilers became the Tennessee Titans in 1999, and the throwback tributes and recognizes the history of the organization.
Hall of Fame linebacker Robert Brazile, who played his entire career with the Oilers, said, “I was in tears when I saw these uniforms, because I was so excited.”
The #Titans will be bringing back their Houston Oilers throwback uniforms for two games this season.
The Titans will wear the throwbacks in two home games this season, on Oct. 29 against the Falcons and Dec. 17 versus the Texans. There’s also a chance that the Titans wear the uniform for a road game this season, but nothing is yet confirmed.
Another iconic NFL uniform, Tampa Bay is bringing back a vintage design with its creamsicle uniform. The original design was used from 1976 to 1996, and the throwback uniforms will include the Bucco Bruce logo.
Minnesota Vikings | Throwback
The retro design is a throwback to the ‘60s and ‘70s. The official announcement shared that “the throwback pays homage to the team’s earlier voyages with a deeper purple and larger, gold-trimmed numbers than the modern jersey, as well as retro sleeve stripes.”
The “Vikings Classic” will be used in Week 1 of the NFL regular season when Minnesota takes on the Buccaneers.
New York Jets | Throwback
The Jets are also introducing a new throwback uniform that they are calling “legacy white.” They pay tribute to the 1980s and are a “modernized version” of those worn
